Economics Curriculum Preparing New Students Building a Strong Foundation for Success
The International Economics, Innovation and Sustainability Program, the faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, Khon Kaen University, recognizes the importance of preparing new students from diverse educational backgrounds. To address this, the program has organized the "Economics Foundation Knowledge Adjustment Project." This initiative aims to bridge academic gaps and help students adapt to university-level studies.
The project, held on August 16, 2025, in Room NK 1406 of the Administrative Building, was developed in response to a survey of new university students. The survey revealed that many students face difficulties with courses involving mathematics and statistics, as well as challenges in adjusting to university teaching styles. The program incorporated student feedback to create this project, seeing it as a key tool for building confidence and a solid academic foundation.
The project's activities focus on essential skill-building for economics courses and provide guidance on various subjects, ensuring new students have a correct understanding from the very beginning. Students from their second to fourth years serve as mentors, offering advice, sharing experiences, and building positive relationships with the new students.
This project is not only about developing academic skills but also about creating a warm and friendly learning community. This environment will help all new students learn happily and succeed throughout their academic careers.
