Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies Holds Ceremony to Enshrine the "Phra Ket Mala" atop the Emerald Buddha, Bringing Auspiciousness to Personnel.

On June 18, 2026, at 9:00 AM, the executive team and personnel of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies gathered together to perform an auspicious ceremony at the Emerald Buddha Pavilion. The honor of presiding over the ceremony was bestowed upon Assistant Professor Dr. Suntaree Buchitchon, Dean of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies, who led the executive team and personnel in enshrining a newly crafted "Phra Ket Mala" (sacred crown/flame finial) atop the (replica) Emerald Buddha, replacing the previous one that had deteriorated over time.

In this regard, the restoration of the Phra Ket Mala to its former beauty and completeness was made possible through the generous expertise of Assistant Professor Dr. Wijit Winthachai, a lecturer in the Department of Visual Arts, Faculty of Fine and Applied Arts, Khon Kaen University, who dedicated his artistic mastery to meticulously craft and restore the Phra Ket Mala with exquisite precision, returning it to a splendor befitting its sacred stature.

The ceremony was organized with the purpose of restoring a sacred object that serves as a spiritual anchor for the community of the Faculty of Interdisciplinary Studies. The "Phra Ket Mala", or sacred flame, is regarded as a symbol of the Buddha's supreme wisdom and the radiant light of the Dharma. Its enshrinement thus represents an act of upholding Buddhism and preserving the continuity of faith for generations to come.

The atmosphere throughout the ceremony was filled with serenity and mindful reverence. The executive team and personnel united in paying homage to the virtues of the Buddha, while offering prayers for auspiciousness, prosperity, and renewed inspiration in their professional duties and personal lives going forward.
